“Fragment API” Offers and Seed-Phrase Requests: How the Risk Works and How to Stay Safe

Fragment is where Telegram users buy Stars, Premium, collectible usernames and numbers, and where advertisers top up Telegram Ads balances in Gram. It is also a magnet for "automation" offers: bots, scripts and paid "Fragment API" services that promise to buy or top up for you. Some are legitimate businesses, some are careless, and some are built to take control of your wallet. This guide explains how to tell the difference.

First: what Fragment actually offers#

• No public developer API. Fragment publishes no API for third parties. The address fragment.com/api is the site's own backend: it only works inside a logged-in browser session and returns pieces of the web interface. Asked about integrations, Fragment points to the public TON blockchain (fragment.com/about).
• Payments from your own wallet. You connect a TON wallet ("Connect TON") and confirm each payment yourself (fragment.com/ads/topup).
• Identity checks. Since November 2024 Fragment requires verification for buying Stars, Premium and anonymous numbers (tginfo).

The only fully documented paid API connected to Fragment is Telegram Gateway — for sending verification codes, funded on Fragment (Telegram Gateway). It has nothing to do with buying Stars or ads for you.

How third-party "Fragment API" services work#

Because there is no official API, any service that buys on Fragment "for you" has to act as you. In practice that means one or both of:

• your Fragment web session (browser cookies), which lets it act in your Fragment account;
• your wallet's seed phrase (recovery words), which lets it sign payments from your wallet — and move everything else in it.

Some open-source "Fragment API" projects send the seed phrase and cookies to a remote server. Even if the operator is honest, you are trusting them with full control of your funds.

Warning signs#

1. Any request for a seed phrase — in a form, a bot, a config file or a "support" chat. No legitimate payment flow on Fragment needs it.
2. "Official Fragment API keys" sold in chats or on sites that are not fragment.com.
3. Look-alike domains. For example, frugment.com was registered on 20 May 2026. Check every letter; type fragment.com by hand.
4. "Official" channels. Fragment's own site does not list an official news channel; a Telegram channel titled "Fragment Official Channel" exists and is not linked from fragment.com.
5. Unusually good prices for Stars, Premium or usernames, paid in advance.
6. Pressure and urgency — "limited slots", "price goes up in an hour".

Safety checklist#

• Keep your seed phrase offline and never type it anywhere except your wallet app when restoring it.
• Use a separate wallet with a small balance for experiments with any third-party tool.
• Top up Telegram Ads and buy Stars only on fragment.com, opened from the Telegram Ads cabinet or typed by hand.
• Revoke wallet connections you don't use in your wallet app.
• If you already shared a seed phrase: create a new wallet and move your funds there immediately.
