With 133+ indexed TH-targeted creatives across 50+ unique channels, Thailand's Telegram ad ecosystem is distinguished by high crypto sophistication, strong forex CFD broker presence, and a rapidly expanding online gambling sector that operates in regulatory grey space.

Crypto: Bitkub plus global exchanges#

Thailand's crypto market is unique in Southeast Asia: it has a regulated domestic exchange (Bitkub, licensed by Thailand SEC) competing directly with global giants. This creates a two-tier ad environment.

Domestic exchanges (Bitkub, Satang, Zipmex): Regulatory-compliant copy, THB on-ramp emphasis, SEC license badge messaging.

Common Bitkub patterns:

• "ซื้อ Bitcoin ด้วยบาทไทย — ไม่มีค่าธรรมเนียมแรกเข้า" (Buy Bitcoin with Thai Baht — no entry fee)
• "กระดานเทรด crypto อันดับ 1 ของไทย — SEC รับรอง" (Thailand's #1 crypto trading platform — SEC licensed)

Global exchanges (Binance, OKX): Run both English and Thai-language creatives. The Thai creatives emphasize THB pairs and local payment methods — PromptPay, bank transfers to Thai banks. They avoid the SEC license claim (they don't hold one) but lean on global brand credibility.

Crypto signal channels: Present in TH, but smaller than in RU or TR. Thai crypto audiences skew toward longer-term holders than active traders — signal channel FOMO copy underperforms relative to its RU/TR equivalent.

Forex and CFD: sophisticated retail base#

Thailand has a disproportionately large retail forex trading community relative to market size. Broker licensing claims vary: some reference Thai SEC registration, others use offshore license credentials (FSA, VFSC, CySEC).

Key advertiser patterns:

• XM and IC Markets: Most visible. English + Thai bilingual copy. Focus on spread, execution speed, MT4/MT5 platform availability.

The PromptPay and TrueMoney Wallet mentions are defining features of Thai-targeted forex copy — they signal genuine domestic payment integration versus offshore-only setups.

Online gambling: growing grey market#

Online gambling is illegal in Thailand but enforcement against individual bettors is rare. Telegram advertising for gambling products grew significantly in 2025–2026 as operators discovered Thai Telegram channels as a low-enforcement distribution channel.

Sports betting: Football (Premier League, Champions League, Thai League) and boxing. Operators use Thai-language copy with local framing ("วิเคราะห์บอลประจำวัน" — daily football analysis) that blends with sports journalism before revealing the CTA.

Online slots and casinos: Targeting Thai entertainment and lottery channels. Copy mimics LINE sticker culture visually (though this is Telegram text format, emoji usage is dense to compensate).

Creative pattern: Gambling creatives almost exclusively use text-only with heavy emoji — avoiding banner images that would be more obviously classifiable as gambling ads by channel owners.

PromptPay integration in creative CTAs serves as a reliable signal of genuine TH targeting versus global campaigns that happen to reach Thai users.

Language and format patterns#

TH creative language split:

• Thai only (~52%): Local exchanges, gambling operators, domestic fintech
• English + Thai bilingual (~31%): Global exchanges, forex brokers, VPN
• English only (~17%): International products not yet localized

Format breakdown:

• Text-only with emoji: 48% (gambling and signal channels)
• Text + banner (logo/chart): 37% (exchanges, forex brokers)
• Short video: 10% (exchange product demos)
• Channel-pic format: 5% (crypto signal channel promotion)

Thai-language creatives are notably longer than English equivalents — following the Southeast Asian pattern of detailed explanation preferred over Western tagline brevity, though shorter than Russian-language creatives.

PromptPay as the localization signal#

In TH-targeted advertising, PromptPay mention is the strongest single localization indicator — more reliable than language alone (since some global EN campaigns also reach Thai users). PromptPay integration signals:

• The advertiser has Thai bank partnerships
• Fiat on-ramp/off-ramp is genuinely accessible to retail Thai users
• The product is not offshore-only

Regulatory context#

• Crypto: Thailand SEC licenses domestic exchanges. Foreign exchanges operate without local licenses but are not explicitly banned for retail users. No advertising regulation specific to crypto beyond general financial advertising rules.
• Forex CFDs: Thai SEC requires license for advice; offshore brokers operate without enforcement. TFEX (Thailand Futures Exchange) is the regulated derivatives venue.
• Gambling: Illegal. Government Lottery Office (GLO) has a legal monopoly on lottery. Muay Thai betting is tolerated in venues. Online gambling ads operate in grey space with minimal enforcement against channel-level distribution.

This report is based on ad creatives indexed by tgadsspy.com between November 2024 and April 2026. Geo assignment uses a three-step classifier: (1) script detection (Thai script → TH default), (2) definitive text markers (PromptPay, TrueMoney, THB/บาท, Thai city names, Thai SEC references), (3) gramesh account region.
